There is no better to get to know Sydney than by taking a River Cruise. Enjoy a leisurely cruise down the Parramatta River. From the morning drive, we will be taking bridges over this river and this is sure to wet your appetite. In the afternoon you will be cruising down the river in a purpose built the catamaran. This stunning river winds and weaves its way around Sydney and goes past some of our most beautiful suburbs. This lovely and calming 45 minute cruise will find its way down the river and into Sydney Harbour. It will pass under the Sydney Harbour bridge, go past the Opera House and then finally end up at Circular Quay where you should disembark the cruise at 6.00pm. This is such a lovely way to end your Blue Mountains day tour and leave you with so many lovely memories of this special day. Definitely not to be missed.

Australia is one of the world’s oldest continents and thus is much flatter than the newer Asian or South American continents. Australia’s Grand Canyon or Jamisson valley get its name from its similarity to the American Grand Canyon. The major difference between the Australian one is the huge amount of fertility in ours. Instead of a vast barren land, our canyon is teaming with life and trees. It is thick with trees and makes for spectacular viewing. It is little wonder tourists come from all over the world to take in this stunning Valley. Hear the calls from the bottom of the valley from the Lyre birds and smell the eucalyptus trees which give this valley such a beautiful aroma. We also find a stunning blue haze arising from the valley on warmer days. This is because of the trees releasing their vapors and then the sun rays forming a stunning optical illusion. It is for this reason that the Blue Mountains are known as the “Blue” Mountains.

One of the Blue Mountains most unique rock formations and a must see for any tourist coming up to the Blue Mountains. Boars head rock gets its name from its unique appearance. As you may have guessed, it looks exactly the same as a boar. This boar or pig head is sitting perched high up on the cliff face and can be viewed from our very own Cahills lookout location. It silently stands on the look out and views both the Jamisson and Megalong valleys. Cahills look out is a majestic look out and takes in stunning views of the Blue Mountains Megalong valley area. Hear the wind running through the valley and smell the fresh eucalyptus mountain air that wafts past you. With three unique looking stations Cahills lookout and its Boars Head rock are always going to be one of the highlights of your day tour experience.

It is a unique and special rock and you will be able to travel right past it on our day tours. This rock got its name as it was all alone and is clearly alone from its unique positioning. Compared to the three sisters which have 3 unique rock formations and even used to be 7 formations many hundreds of years ago, this is just one large rock all be its self and that is why it got the name the Orphan rock. A very beautiful and underrated sandstone rock of the Blue Mountains.

A temperate rainforest has majestically formed in the Blue Mountains at the lower parts of the sandstone cliff faces. The lack of sun and free flowing waters have led to a stunning collection of flora and fauna. Take in the sights of the beautiful tree ferns which trap the warmth in and keep the sun out. Also, we will see the rainforest floor is covered in plant ferns which look like the younger siblings. Walking through all the ferns are Lyre Birds, snakes, small marsupials and many other Australian favorites. This beautiful boardwalk elevates us up over the rainforest and allows the visitor to walk freely through this area. The walk can be done at your own pace and has three distinct routes considering walkers of all shape and skill level.

When we have enough time, a peaceful visit to the Wentworth falls area is always in store. We take a visit to the lakes area of Wentworth falls. This beautiful and tranquil park is set alongside a lake. Be surrounded by the birds calling out to you as you unwind in the park. It is roughly 5000sqm in size and is a lovely way to unwind at the end of the day. This area used to be an old quarry and is now used for ducks, birds and fun loving visitors who just want to relax somewhere. The Wentworth waterfalls are located not too far from here, however, we usually do not have time to visit them. We prefer to visit the Katoomba falls and also the Leura Cascades on our day tour.

The beautiful township of Leura is known for its stunnings gardens. The word Leura is an aboriginal word for Lava. Many years back Leura had high amounts of volacnic activity and this left Leura with extremely nutrient rich and fertile soils.

From these soils many plants, flowers and ferns grew and amongst all of this we have the cascades which flow down the rocks and form a small river known as the Leura Cascades. At their bottom they feed into a small rainforest and are very pretty and stunning. They are highlight of the day and definitely something not to be missed. Smile and pose for a photo at the cascades and take a stunning photo to help you remember the day. The Leura cascades are one of the premium highlights from a highly memorable day tour with Sydney Tours R Us.

One of the best highlights from our day will be the stop at Scenic World. The entry fee is $39 which can be a little pricey for some which is why we make this an optional extra for all our passengers. If you choose to enter you will be well rewarded with 4 unique and special attractions. First, we start with the Scenic Skyway which takes you up over the valley and with a glass bottom the cable car travels past the Katoomba falls.

Once you arrive at the Scenic world on the Skyway you will then travel down the Scenic Railway. This is the world’s steepest incline railway and is at roughly 40 degrees angle. It is a unique experience and will transport you all the way down to the bottom of the valley. Once there you can have a unique view of the three sisters, the Jamisson Valley and also the sandstone cliff faces. At the bottom is a lush temperate rainforest. Take a walk on the rainforest boardwalk which you can do for either 30 minutes or a shorter 15-minute walk if you choose. Hear the calls of the lyrebirds and other Australian birds waiting for you at the bottom. On the other side of the rainforest is the Scenic Cable car which is a unique vernacular which will transport you back up the cliff face to the top. As you make your up you can take in stunning valley scenery, see the sandstone cliff faces and the special orphan rock which you pass right by. Once back at the top, you can enjoy the souvenir shops and your guide will be with you the entire time to make sure you have the best experience possible. Definitely a highlight of the day.

Start far up stream about 1km away from the falls the Katoomba falls merge into one large stream which then flows near the Scenic World Scenic Skyway. Hear the rumbling water as you join the ride at Scenic world and get a beautiful look at these stunning waterfalls. The Katoomba falls are the third longest water fall in the Blue Mountains and are perfectly placed at the center of the Blue Mountains in Katoomba. These falls have a very special meaning to the locals of the Blue Mountains and also to the old aboriginal inhabitants. These will certainly be one of the heights of your day touring experience with us.

The aboriginals are the traditional land owners of the Blue Mountains and it is important we pay our respects to them. Throughout the day we will reference the aboriginals who once fully populated the Blue Mountains areas. Learn about their culture and way of life. They used to use boomerangs as such a multi-faceted tool of survival. They would use them as a tool for scaring the birds out of the trees so they could then be spared. They would also use it as a cooking tool, also to hit kangaroos to knock them out and they were so effective that if they missed the target the boomerang would come back generally quite close to where it was originally thrown.

This made the boomerang an essential tool for the aboriginals and once every aboriginal man had to master if he ever wanted to become a respected man in aboriginal society. They also used the didgeridoo as a dance and music instrument. It would be blown into in a special way to create a deep bass like sound. It could also be tapped on as it was being blown to create a special additional sound. Learn all about these instruments and more on our Blue Mountains day tour which we run daily.

The Sydney Olympics changed Sydney as we used to know it. It is in 2000 that Sydney finally became a global city. A world class Olympic venue was built out in the wastelands of Homebush and the stage was set for the World to see Sydney in all of its glory. On our day tour we take you through the Olympic Park area and show you some of the venues which made the Olympics such a special time for Sydney. The Olympic park was built in Homebush which is considered the geographical central of Sydney. It is connected by a railway station, buses down Parramatta road and also by a ferry down the Parramatta river. The Olympic park is still in use for Sydney with it being used for concerts, major sporting events, the Royal Easter show and so many more special Sydney events.

One of the best strengths of choosing a small day tour provider compared to the larger companies is the personal service you get with us. We come to your hotel in the morning to pick you up. The Blue Mountains tour is a full day experience and we don’t want you having to wake extra early to travel to a central pickup location. We pick up from most hotels in the Sydney CBD area. We also pick up from Kings Cross hotels, Surry Hills, Parramatta, Olympic Park, North shore and even up in the Blue Mountains if you wish to join our day tour from up there.

For every one of our Blue Mountains day tour we use a Deluxe Toyota Coaster to run our tours in. These are our favorite vehicles for so many reasons. Firstly they are so comfortable.

With their super comfy seats, strong air conditioning, perfectly suited suspension and roomy interior, we are sure our passengers will enjoy being in them. Secondly, they have great power to make sure our buses can get up the to the best places and scenery as quick and efficient as safely possible. Finally, Coasters are the safest and most reliable bus around. With Toyota’s years of experience, the coaster is so mechanically reliable and safe, it is really the only bus we trust. Our buses are maintained to better than government regulation and are always in great condition for touring.
